After months waiting for my backup drive to arrive at our new home, I’ve tried to connect my My Book Live to my MBP to resume backups with Time Machine. Before we moved they worked pretty seamlessly. Now it can’t even find the MBL, even when I use the IP address in the browser.
I’ve plugged the MBL into our new wifi router, expecting that it would then happily shake hands with the Mac and begin backing up, but I get this message:
“Time Machine couldn’t complete the backup to “MyBookLive”.
The backup disk could not be found. Make sure the backup disk is connected or select a different backup disk.
Latest successful backup: 20 November 2017”
Same thing if I do a direct ethernet connection to the MBP.
Any suggestions as to what I’m doing wrong. So far, I’ve tried a new ethernet cable to connect to the router and turning all on and off again and rebooting. I ran LAN SCAN to see if the MBL appears and it doesn’t. I went into the Sharing Menu in System Prefs and tried enabling AFP.
Currently the LED on the front of the MBL is solid blue.
I’m running the latest OS (10.13.3).
Any suggestions on how to fix would be appreciated!
